Why The Hive?

How do I get an apartment at The Hive?
To start the application process apply to the unit listed on ‘View Available Units’. Please note this is not the exact unit you are applying for. When filling out the application make sure to list the people you are applying with. If you have a preference on who will be in which room and sharing a bathroom please indicate that on the application. Our units go fast, you must have all roommates fill out an application, sign the lease and pay the security deposit to secure a unit. If you would like a tour of the showroom and building before applying please email marketing@greatriverproperties.com.
What kind of leases does The Hive have?
We are proud to be among the first apartment complex in La Crosse to offer individual leases for tenants! Each tenant has their own lease for their bedroom. This means that they are not liable for roommates unpaid rent or damages.
What Security is Provided at The Hive?
The Hive offers a comprehensive security package that includes security cameras, state-of-the-art fire suppression, on site staff, and our electronic secured entry system. Numerous cameras at strategic points throughout both the interior and exterior of the building are monitored by building staff who respond to resident concerns. The 2 entrances to The Hive are electronically locked and are opened using the Alta Open app on tenants phone. Each apartment is equipped with a remote electronic access system to permit visitor access. Each bedroom is separately keyed to provide additional interior security. What sets The Hive apart from other apartment complexes in La Crosse?
In addition to providing the best security off campus, you will experience the best accommodations available with fully furnished units that feature spacious bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and bedrooms. Our apartments have high-end finishes, including stainless steel kitchen appliances and upgraded cabinets, countertops, flooring, and furnishings. We offer laundry appliances in every unit at no additional charge. Our showroom in the office offers a cozy place for tenants to hang out and where we host monthly tenant events. Our on-site management office also has a free tenant print station, coffee bar, and HMart Our tenants enjoy a gym membership, cable and WI-FI all included in the price of rent.
Why does The Hive offer fully furnished apartments?
The Hive offers fully furnished apartments because we realize what a hassle it is to furnish an apartment that is ultimately temporary. You go through a process of spending a lot on furniture only to see it next to the dumpster after you graduate and move on to bigger and better things. We also know how time-consuming it is to move and haul furniture from one place to another, and then have to find some way to store it between leases. At The Hive, we decided to eliminate this hassle for everyone involved and supply sleek, modern looking furniture that is built to last.
What Utilities are Tenants Responsible For?
Unlike most La Crosse off-campus rentals, we only charge a small fee for water, sewer, and garbage while internet and laundry are free. All units are separately metered and tenants can control their own thermostats. We are proud to feature energy efficient appliances and heating/cooling systems throughout The Hive. The Hive was constructed to meet high environmental standards, resulting in substantial reductions to energy consumption and lower energy bills for our tenants.
What heating and cooling systems are at The Hive?
Almost all other apartments in La Crosse offer electric heating and cooling. This is because it is the cheapest option for the landlords. However, this is considerably inefficient and expensive for the tenants. At The Hive we offer central heating and cooling. This is the safest and most efficient option for heating and cooling. Each room will be perfectly heated and cooled controlled by a thermostat the tenants control. No more keeping your doors open and fans on to try to get the cold air from the living room wall unit and paying an outrageous electric bill!
How does parking work at The Hive?
We offer assigned parking spots at The Hive. Parking lease agreements are 12 months long and the cost varies depending on how close to the building you are.
How is rent paid?
Rent is always due on the first of the month. Rent is paid online using your individual Appfolio portal. Unfortunately, we do not offer payments to be dropped off via cash or check.
